Navigating Fears

Image
2befearless is boldly being yourself! Not allowing fear to stop you from achieving your goals. But also not being afraid to admit that you need help. Admit that you do get nervous and worry at times. How you tackle them and move forward is 2befearless! When we were little, the majority of us probably were scared of monsters, the boogie man or the dark. But, as we get older, we worry that we may not succeed, that we won't be able to protect our family the way we desire or stay up all night worrying about our children. We may not believe it or think about it as much as we get older, but we all have something to overcome. It's our strong faith that keeps us going and allow us to know that we will be okay.  Now we are older and have a better understanding on how to navigate our thoughts. But, how do we help our children to do the same? So for Christmas, we bought my son a twin Spider-man bed. With marvel sheets and a cool Spider-man comforter to go with it and we just knew it was

Stages Of Life

As much as we wish it did, parenthood does not come with a rule book! If you are a parent, God made you equipped for it, so trust that you are doing right by your children. After listening to a sermon from my pastor, I decided to share what I learned. I realized that our parenthood is based on the stage that our children is in. Of course they change as they continue to grow and learn new things. As they change, we need to change! What worked when they were little, will not fly as they get older.                                                          Ages 0-5 - (The Discipline Years.) During this age, we should be teaching our children obedience. All direction should be straight forward and to the point. I’m not going to lie, this is something I struggled with and still do at times. Being the nice guy all the time, going back on my word or trying to explain why the answer is no. We need to be straightforward because this is the beginning of their lives. They are beginning to understan

Live Your Dream...Do What You Love

Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" has always been my favorite scripture. My mother always taught me that the sky is the limit, but with Him is how we can achieve our potential. It wasn't until my junior year of college that I realized how truly fearless I can be. God spoke to me to instill a clear vision for my life...a life of FEARLESSNESS in Him that I could have never imagined.  2befearless is a lifestyle brand - a brand that serves a community of confident and courageous believers who inspire others to embrace and overcome fear. For those who don't know, I served as a class queen at Morgan State University and ran for Miss Morgan on the platform...FEARLESS. Since then, that word has stuck to me. The dream to continue to mold Fearless into something bigger than myself never died. Hint. This blog! :) This blog was just a start after graduating college in 2015. God kept revealing all these great ideas to me and at first I felt l

FOREVER A STUDENT...

The month of September is a great one for my family! I got married on September 3rd and gave birth to my son just 17days later on September 20th. I have been holding both titles now for 4yrs and still in shock about how fast it is going. Both are two major roles that God has blessed me with. Like I always say...it is not easy, but worth it! Reminiscing back to the days when Kendall and I first began our journey as a couple and then parents, I realized that we have come a long way! A lot of ups, downs and lessons learned. Often, women ask "How do you balance it all? Being a wife, having a career and then throwing a child in the mix!" But I've come to realize that it's not about balance. It's about prioritizing and focusing on the growth. Nothing is ever perfect and easy. It takes work and it is important to be willing to change where it is necessary. Since it has been four years, I've decided to name four things I have learned as a wife and four things I have l

Wife, Mother and now Teacher???

I am sure that everyone can agree that 2020 has be one craaaazy year! With everything going on, we have to adjust to this new way of living. With schools shutting down, parents became teachers and we are now starting another academic school year. I'm not going to lie...when this first happened, I was truly annoyed. How can schools expect working parents to be on top of kids' schoolwork? Obviously after a while, you come to realize that keeping your child home was the best option to keep them safe and healthy. Thank God Kendall and I were able to come up with a schedule and rotate days where someone was home with Mason while the other person was at work.  If you follow my instagram page, you have seen a few things that I have been doing with Mason while home. It is important that he continues to get the education he would have received if he was still going to preschool. I'm sure all parents can agree, it's not easy! If we wanted to be teachers, we would have done that!

I Am A Black Woman

I am a black woman.  I am strong, intelligent and independent.  But, I also desire to be loved. I am a black woman. I am beautiful, loving and caring.  But, I also want to be treated with respect.  I am a black woman.  I am fearless, a nurturer and selfless. But, I also want to be reminded of how remarkable I am.  I am a black woman.  A woman of color, a hardworking, soft and dreaming woman.  I want to and need to be treated fairly. I want to and need to feel protected and safe. I am a black woman, a black wife, a black mother and want to see my black family succeed!  I am a black woman.  Do my curves, hips, braids and stylish clothes bother you? Does it cause me to be a threat or cause you to disrespect me for lack of better words? Well, tell me. Tell me why Karen gets surgery to look like me? Oh, but its wrong for me to naturally look the way I look? Wrong for my culture to embrace it's own style? When I look in the mirror I see flawless and vibrant skin!  But, what is it that yo

Boy Mom

Who would have known that your 3yr old son could be your best friend?! Being a mother truly brings so much joy to my heart. Each and every day, I am reminded of the great reward of being someone's mother. Sure, it causes you to be tired, it brings you stress at times and worry, but I would not trade it for anything else! My son has taught me to be patient, he has challenged me to become a better person and work even harder. I am the first example of a woman he sees and I want him to know that we are strong, caring, nurturing and hard working. Being a "boy mom" is so much fun! The energy that Mason brings everyday is so amazing. He definitely keeps me on my toes and keeps me moving even when I don't feel like getting out of bed. Especially since he loves to wake up between 6:30-7am on the weekends. lol It is something about that mother/son bond that is so untouchable. You better not cross me because my son will come for you! lol He always knows when I am in need for
