Christmas 2017

Image
Christmas has come and gone that quick! But it was a great holiday. For those who know me, know that I go to Virginia every year for Christmas. But this year, it was our turn to spend Christmas in Baltimore with Kendall’s side of the family. I was a little nervous since I never had a Christmas without my side of the family and it was going to be something new. But it was great. We played games, talked, open gifts and just enjoyed everyone’s company. On Christmas Eve, we went to a friend of ours house for brunch which was absolutely wonderful. The food was so good. Last year, Mason was only 3 months when Christmas came around, but this year, he was 15 months. Things were so much more exciting. Kendall and I got him a paw patrol four wheeler and a paw patrol microphone. He loved them! He rides around on that four wheeler like he is grown. Lol He amazes me so much when he picks up on things so fast. When we first took him on a ride, we was holding the button down for him, but the next day

A Year Already

On September 20th, Mason turned one years old!! I cannot believe my baby boy is now one. The time flew by so fast. This past year I learned so much just from being his mother. I remember Mason being a skinny 6oz 12lb baby and now he's 22lbs and in the 99th percentile in height! He is growing up so fast. I want to thank those who came out to help celebrate his birthday with us! Mason is so freaking spoiled. Smh He has so many toys and so much clothes to choose from now. It makes me so happy when he runs to his room to play. His eyes light up so bright and he just goes for it! Moving from one toy to the next. Lol and he loves books! I think it's safe to say that everyday, Mason does something to make me want to cry. My baby isn't a little baby anymore. Of course he is still growing, learning and still need his mama (I mean he is only one), but he does so much on his own now! I will say that baby's pick up on everything. One of his favorite movies to watch is Trolls a

Hubby Time

Kendall and I just celebrated our very first marriage anniversary on September 3rd! I can't believe it's been a year already! To be honest, having a baby really makes you lose track of time. Lol This past year has been amazing. We learned so much about each other that only marriage brings out of you. A lot of people would try to tell you that nothing changes besides that signed piece of paper to make things legal. Soooo not true! Lol everything is on a much bigger level. For example, I knew Kendall was a neat freak but now I know it's more serious than I thought. Lol But for real though, he helps pull the best out of me and I pull the best out of him. We could have never made it if we didn't keep God first and honor our marriage first and require others to honor it as well. We made a promise to one another before God on September 3rd and we intend to keep all promises. To celebrate our anniversary, my mother watched Mason over night and we stayed at the new hotel call

I Guess There's a First Time for Everything

So Mason got sick for the first time. My baby's nose has been running, he has been sneezing, coughing, gagging and just laying around. Of course I was nervous. He has never been sick before and him laying around not wanting to do anything was so weird to watch. Kendall gave him some baby Tylenol and his fever instantly went down. But when he sneezes and it's time to wipe his nose, he has a FIT! Lol He actually ran away from me a few times when he saw me coming with the wipe. lol I feel so bad when he starts hollering, but I feel even worst when I hear him trying to breathe through his nose and can't! He is so little and hopeless. Have you ever thought about how frustrating it could be for a baby at times? They can't communicate how they feel and they have no clue what this new feeling is all about! As a mother, you just have to be patient, pay close attention and try everything until you find out what works. Last night, I gave him a nice warm bath and he started to

Just Me and Mase

Image
Last weekend, Kendall went to California. It was just me and Mase, but we had a great time together. Usually, Kendall is the one who gets Mason up in the morning because I'm already at work, but I love being there to get him up. Every morning, he got up around 8:30 and he was full of smiles and excitement every time I entered his room. I would bring him in my room and we would play as he jumped around the bed and talk about who knows what! Lol then we would go in the family room and he would just play and watch his shows until he dropped. Lol For those who follow me on instagram, you know Mason's new favorite movie is The Secret Life of Pets. We probably seen that movie 5000 times by now. Lol But I actually got him to watch two new movies over the weekend. Lol It's very true when people say "You don't know what you have until it's gone." Now Kendall was only gone for a weekend but not having him here to help me with little things was rough. Lol B

Wedding Bells

July 29, 2017 is the day my sister became a fearless wife. The entire journey leading up to that day was a crazy one, but we made it! The wedding was located at Blues on the Water and even though the rain caused them to move the wedding inside, it was absolutely beautiful! Shardae (my sister) was so calm the day of. I was really surprised because I thought she was going to be losing her mind the entire day. Lol She made me really proud. Of course my girl looked stunning! Her dress was evvvverything! She had Ben crying before he even saw her. Lol BUT THATS HOW IT SHOULD BE! you know he love you if he cry on your wedding day. Lol The reception was a true turn up. It was so nice seeing both families bond together so naturally. It was one big fun party. The groomsmen were great but the bridesmaids were the best! Lol we truly bonded within this year which is awesome. From all the group chats and our Miami trip, we all became friends. Everyone looked great in our purple dresses an

Fearless Women Turn Into Fearless Wives

Image
It takes a strong and of course fearless woman to support her husband. As a wife, you always have to be ready to come alongside your husband and be the helpmate that God has set us out to be. There are times where things get tough, but always stand by your husband. You have to be willing to let your husband lead, but know when to step up. Just because your husband is the leader of the household, doesn't mean you no longer have a voice. A matter of fact, your voice is very important! You are the voice that cheers your husband on, your the voice that encourages your husband, your the voice that motivates your husband, your the voice that lets your husband know you love him, your the voice that he hears even when your not around. It's powerful in so many ways. You say that men don't listen? Trust me, it's times I feel the same way! lol but they hear you! They just won't show it until later. Kendall and I may not agree all the time, but I always support his decisions.

Proud Mama Moments

So I been dying to take Mason to the park, but I wanted to make sure Kendall was there to enjoy the first time with me. We finally were able to do it this past Saturday and he loved it. He is still a little small for the swing but he could not stop smiling. I can't wait for him to get to the age where he just goes wild at the park. lol We slid down the slide too. It's definitely going to become the norm for us now! As y'all already know, I love experiencing new things and seeing him smile. Going to the park was definitely the highlight of my day. Whenever I can spend chill, quality time with my family, I'm all for it. Just taking a walk alone would've been good enough because I had my boys with me. Moving on....Mason is making major moves. lol He is trying to walk so bad and he is half way there! Yesterday he walked from the family room to the kitchen as I called him. The cutest thing is him sitting down after taking a few steps and start clapping his ha

The Next Move

Mason has his own room! We are officially out of our old apartment and into a way bigger one. Thank you Jesus! With Mason, we were running out of space. The old apartment had so many great memories. The first apartment I moved into with my husband and the apartment I bought my son home to. Him having his own room just reminds me constantly that my baby is growing up. He is growing and developing into his own. Being able to be in his room by himself is a great accomplishment. It's something else he has to get use to and overcome. He's so use to popping up and seeing Kendall and I right across from him. Every month has a new exciting adventure. These may sound so little to some of you, but if you don't already, you'll understand sooner or later! Like sitting up in the grocery store carts! He is big enough to sit up in them with no problem. I remember the first time I tried putting him in there. Lol He started to cry and was not comfortable. But now he loves it. Ki

Where Is The Time Going

Image
My baby is growing up too fast and I cannot take it! He has two bottom teeth with the two top teeth starting to poke out. It is so funny when he smiles. He is extremely mobile! Lol like I never seen or heard about a baby being so energetic. He cannot sit down for nothing!! And not to mention, he's starting to take a few steps. I don't know where the time went AT ALL! He's suppose to be this little tiny baby in my arms and now he's so big and all he wants to do is get down on the floor. Lol it's been plenty of times where I had to hold back my tears. I try to hold him tight and tell him not to grow up. lol I can't imagine what I'll do when he's actually talking and going to school. 🤦🏾‍♀️I'm going to need a HUGE box of tissues. Lol not too long ago, Kendall and I went to visit a daycare to see if we would like Mason to go there. It was actually a great daycare, but it made me want to cry. Mason got down on the floor and was playing and laughing

Part two...

Morgan is also someone I knew all my life, but we ends don't up being roommates m senior year in college. She was always ready to tell some crazy story and was always hurting herself. Lol she is so sweet and truly cares for others. Our families has been friends since I can even remember. She is a great architect and is very talented. She has a great eye for designing. Beaira was our other roommate. She added the spice to the group. Lol always ready to have a good time. Our bonding moments always were gatherings in the living room and just talking for hours. Living with them was definitely a different mix but a good one. We had good times laughing at Morgan's random and crony stories lol and a good time laughing at Beaira's mondo burgers she use to cook all the time. Lol them things were huge. Lol But I know those two girls is always supporting me and rooting for me to do better as I am for them. Stacy is my friend I met in church! She is so strong and truly fearless. She is

Girlfriends

"Good friends are like stars. You don't always see them, but you know they're always there." Having girlfriends is so important!! We need girl nights out, we need shopping partners, we need hairstylist, we need a good laugh, we need a good tea session and we just need someone to relate to us on a different level. Without my girls, my tough times would have been harder, I wouldn't have realized when I was being stupid, my college experience wouldn't have been as fun as it was and my make up would never be done when I need it to be! Lol True girlfriends stick together, true girlfriends spit truth even when it hurts, true girlfriends hold you accountable, and true girlfriends are a good outlet from life. I was always the type to be cool with the guys, but it's never fun when you don't have true girlfriends. You may say you don't like females because they petty buuuuut at the end of the day, you need atleast one girlfriend to lean on. Now I have frien

Mother's Day

Image
Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers! I was so excited for this to be my first Mother's Day. I thank God for the beautiful weather. A day to celebrate motherhood is well overdue. Lol Being a mother is a job that never ends. Today I just wanted to feel special and just soak up all the comments about me being a great mother. Lol This morning, Mason and I woke up and I opened my gifts. We went to Outback for lunch and spent the evening with family and friends. Today was overflowing with love and I appreciate everyone who made it special. Of course, mommy duties are never ending even on this day. I woke up with Mason at 9am, I got him prepared for our day, and he still drove me crazy with all his energy. Lol While eating at Outback, he was so interested in everything going on around him, banging on the tables and just smiling at everyone. Him being a happy baby brings joy to my heart. His innocence is so precious. Everyday, I see him grow, develop, get introduced to something new

A Mother's Concern

Image
No mother wants to see their child hurt! Even if it seems so small, it hurts your heart to see them in pain. Last night, Mason cut his finger trying to grab a picture frame. The cut is a pretty deep cut and he would not stop bleeding!!! I was freaking out and wanted to cry. You may say I'm over dramatic, but his little finger was just bleeding away and nothing would make it come to an end. I knew he had hurt himself but didn't know what to do to help him. You always hear stories about first time parents taking their babies to the doctors for everything because they over analyze everything. This is very true! lol Kendall and I took Mason to patient first to get his finger looked at and all they did was clean it up and put a bandage on it. I figured it wasn't that deep, but at the time looking at that blood had me weak. Of course I had to drive since Kendall's leg is still healing and I was speeding down the street. When it comes to a mother's baby, you better not m

Back At It Again

Image
After being out for three weeks, I am back at work. It has been a true struggle. I been waking up at 4 A.M, working 9 hours, taking care of Mason and Kendall, cooking and getting up in the middle of the night when Mason wakes up. Watching Mason gives me so much energy though. It's actually kind of weird. I be so sleepy and ready to pass out but Mason wakes me up completely. Lol He has so much joy and is ready to play as soon as he sees me walk through the door. lol I miss being at home with my boys but I gotta do what I gotta do. Balancing out your family and your career is hard but can be done. My family actually motivates me to keep on pushing. I am not a morning person at all, but I get up so early to beat traffic, get to work early so I can leave early to be with my family. Whatever I do, I do it for them. I want Mason to see that his mother is a strong and hardworking woman. Rather you believe it or not, someone is always watching you and I know for a fact that Mason is wa

Godmothers Need To Be Fearless Too

Image
Godmothers are like second mothers to your child. They are there to step in when you need help, watch your child or children, give presents lol, take them out and raise them if something were to happen to you and family. Being someone's godmother is a lot of responsibility and takes a lot of love. To be a godmother, you have to be just as fearless as a mother. You may not birth the child, but you want to care for the child as if it was your own. Godmothers are taking on a great challenge and as a mother, it is important to choose the right person. Mason's godmother is My best friend since 6th grade, Rachel. Rachel is the longest friend I have. She is always there when I need her no matter when and where. Rachel is the most loyal person I know and she don't play games when it comes down to me. I know that I can trust her 100% for my child and she's the best person for the job! She is a God fearing Christian and doesn't get involved in any drama. She is all about her

Fearless Flashback

So one day I went to church and the First Lady's mother came to me saying she heard that I was a great dancer. She then proceeded to ask me if I could dance on Easter Sunday. Knowing that I haven't danced in a while and how nervous I would be, I still accepted it. The song I had to dance to was called "Don't Cry" by Kirk Franklin. I love that song. Every time I hear it, I cry anyway. lol it's a powerful song. For those of you who do not know, it's a song letting you know that Jesus is alive. He died for me and you but He rose from the dead on the third day so there's no need to cry. Clearly the perfect song for Easter Sunday. From that day on, I started to listen to the song and make up my dance. Another challenge for me. I made up dances before, but once again, it's been so long ago. Once Kendall broke his leg, I didn't have the time to really continue practicing and creating the best dance that I could. Y'all, I literally finished makin

Today I have been with Kendall for a total of three years and Mason turned seven months! It's crazy how life works y'all. I really feel like I have been with Kendall forever and feel like Mason was just born yesterday. I think it's wonderful how Kendall still wants to celebrate the day we started dating even though we are married now. Most guys can't remember the day they got with their girl but that's why I love Kendall. He doesn't forget and makes sure it's special every time. I have two anniversaries! lol Today as a family we went to get some sushi, got a movie and baked cookies. Nothing too big but it was just right. I can remember the day Kendall asked me to be his girlfriend. It was actually like 12 something Easter morning. We had some fun times while dating. People were so jealous lol but it just made our relationship even better and stronger. Nothing could break us. It's funny because I really believe that with all the challenges we had together

Fearless Mamas

Image
My mother always taught me that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13). We would cite that scripture before going to school, playing sports, taking tests and anything else you can think of. Since I was a little girl, I knew that nothing could stop me from achieving my goals and dreams. My mother is a strong black woman and she only wanted the best for her kids like most mothers. Growing up, my mother pushed me everyday to make sure I was strong, successful, independent and the woman that God wants me to be. Every lecture she gave was so annoying at the time, lol but now I can see why she did it. When you want the best for your kids, your going to communicate with them, tell them what you went through and hope they don't do the same. My mother got up every single day with a smile on her face even when she was going through her personal pain. She put her own feelings and what she wanted to the side for my sister, brother and I. My mother kept it rea

It's A Party!

Image
Yesterday was Mason's second birthday party and he had a blast! The best part was my mother holding him as they played musical chairs. Lol my mom looked crazy running around the chairs with a bunch of kids while holding a baby lol But Mason thought it was hilarious. He was apart of the party somehow. He wanted to be one of the big kids so bad. Lol As he watched the bigger kids play, run around and pull down balloons, he kept turning his body to see what was going on. It was when he kept trying to throw himself to the floor, I knew he was trying to be one of the big kids. lol It was a moment during the party he would not stop screaming when a kid ran past and then I realized he wanted to play with a balloon like the rest of them. lol I had to ask one of the little boys to share and give Mason one. Of course he was so excited to hit it and try to eat it. It's so interesting to see your child grow and want to get into more and more each day. Even today, Kendall and I sat outs
